Who should you testimonialize?

Legends of San Francisco 14!

Let’s say Michelle Lee wants to refer an immigration matter.

She refers it to Scott Hershenson.

His response: thanks but I’m on vacation. Saja might be interested. Reach out to her.

So Michelle contacts me, it’s a good fit, and I get the referral.

Super important: at least three testimonials are due here.

  1. Scott owes Michelle a testimonial for thinking of him initially. It doesn’t matter that he wasn’t available. Reinforce positive behavior regardless of its outcome.
  2. I owe two testimonials: one for Michelle, and one for Scott.

Sure, the referral came from Michelle.

But Scott also deserves a testimonial as the facilitator of the referral.

Don’t forget to thank referral facilitators! They’re half the reason you got the business.

I recently mentioned at SF12 when Audrianna Sibiski kindly had me speak on testimonials: don’t just think of a testimonial as an obligation you owe.

Also think of it as a marketing opportunity for yourself.

A testimonial is a great excuse for you to raise your hand and get seen and heard at PV meetings.

So, if you’re on the fence as to whether or not a testimonial is justified, err on the side of giving it UNLESS it’s a:

😮 Dronamonial
😮 Begamonial
😮 Negamonial
